An exciting opportunity is available for a Board-Certified Small Animal Surgery Specialist or Board-Eligible Clinician with specialist registration pathway eligibility to join a highly respected, independent referral hospital located in Sydney's Northern Beaches.

The Team

You will be joining a highly skilled multidisciplinary team including:

  • Surgery specialists
  • Internal Medicine clinicians

  • Oncology, dermatology and ophthalmology teams
  • Experienced emergency veterinarians (supported by external ECC partner service)
  • Highly trained nursing and surgical support teams
  • Surgical residents and interns

The Role

As a Small Animal Surgery Specialist, you will be responsible for delivering advanced surgical care across a diverse and challenging caseload.

You will work closely with multiple disciplines to ensure integrated case management, high-quality outcomes and evidence-based treatment planning.

Key Responsibilities

  • Performing advanced soft tissue and orthopaedic surgical procedures.
  • Managing complex referral and internal surgical cases.
  • Collaborating with multidisciplinary specialists on case planning and treatment.
  • Providing surgical consultations and client communication.
  • Contributing to development of clinical protocols and service innovation.
  • Supporting and mentoring residents, interns and veterinary staff.
  • Participating in teaching, training and clinical education activities.
  • Engaging in evidence-based surgical advancement and R&D initiatives.

What We're Looking For

Essential
  • Board-certified Small Animal Surgeon (ACVS, ECVS, FANZCVS or equivalent), or board-eligible clinician with specialist registration pathway eligibility in Australia.
  • Eligibility for veterinary registration in New South Wales.
  • Strong clinical expertise in small animal surgery.
  • Commitment to evidence-based medicine and high-quality patient care.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
  • Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team.

Desirable
  • Experience in a referral or specialist hospital environment.
  • Interest in clinical teaching, mentoring or residency training.
  • Experience in service development or surgical innovation.
