Specialist in Small Animal Surgery Referral & Emergency Hospital (Perth, Australia)

We are representing a newly established, purpose-built emergency and specialist referral hospital in Perth's northern suburbs, offering an exciting opportunity for a Specialist in Small Animal Surgery to join a growing multidisciplinary team.

The Opportunity

This is a fantastic opportunity for a board-certified, board-eligible, or residency-trained veterinary surgeon to join a progressive specialist team within a fully equipped referral and emergency hospital.

The surgical service operates within a genuinely collaborative environment, where complex cases are managed collectively across specialties. Clinical decision-making is evidence-based and supported by the freedom to allocate appropriate time, diagnostics, and resources to each case.

You will be working alongside a multidisciplinary team with open communication, strong clinical support, and a shared commitment to delivering the highest standard of patient care.

Hospital Services & Facilities

The hospital provides 24/7 emergency and critical care alongside multiple specialty services, including:

  • Surgery
  • Internal Medicine

Surgical facilities include:

  • Four fully equipped operating theatres supporting soft tissue, orthopaedic, neurosurgical, and interventional procedures
  • Minimally invasive surgery capability (laparoscopy and arthroscopy)

  • Dedicated anaesthetic recovery ward within the surgical suite
  • Dedicated 24/7 ICU for intensive post-operative care

  • Digital radiography and mobile C-arm
  • Full in-house laboratory with haematology, biochemistry, blood gas analysis, urinalysis, sediment analysis, and ROTEM testing

About You

You are a dedicated veterinary surgeon who is passionate about high-quality patient care and values collaboration within a specialist environment. You will bring:

  • Board certification, board eligibility, or completion of a recognised surgical residency
  • Eligibility for registration in Western Australia
  • Strong commitment to evidence-based medicine and clinical excellence
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills
  • Professional integrity, accountability, and sound clinical judgement
  • A compassionate, curious, and collaborative approach to practice
