Practice / Hospital / Referral Centre Information

This practice, a well-established referral and emergency center founded in 2006, operates from a new, purpose-built 2800 m² facility in close proximity to Bordeaux-Mérignac International Airport. With multiple specialty services, including Surgery, Internal Medicine, Cardiology, Radiology, Ophthalmology, Dermatology, and Physiotherapy, we emphasize excellence in patient care and collaboration across specialties. The practice boasts a 24/7 emergency service and is committed to providing a supportive, balanced, and team-oriented work environment.

Departments

You will join a collaborative Surgery team, working alongside one ECVS board-certified surgeon, one board-eligible surgeon, three surgery interns, and a dedicated group of veterinary nurses. All departments work closely together to ensure optimal outcomes for patients, satisfaction for owners, and strong support for referring veterinarians.

Equipment

The facility is well-equipped with advanced tools, including:

• 21 examination rooms
• Two digital radiography units
• Dedicated ultrasound and endoscopy rooms
• Intensive Care Unit (ICU)
• Nine surgical suites
• In-house 84-slice CT scanner with angiography
• In-house laboratory and physical therapy room
• Off-site access to a 1.5T MRI and fluoroscopy suite/cath lab, with on-site availability from September 2024

Staffing Levels

Our team includes 39 veterinarians and a highly trained team of 35 veterinary technicians and nurses, dedicated to patient monitoring and treatment. We foster a friendly and balanced work environment, with opportunities for CPD, publication, and training if desired.

Type of Individual Sought

We are seeking a qualified and passionate Small Animal Surgeon who values collaboration and excellent patient care. A full-time, four-day work week is preferable, though a part-time position may be considered. The ideal candidate will have strong teamwork skills and a commitment to high standards of care.

Qualifications Required

Candidates must be board-certified or board-eligible with ECVS or ACVS certification. Fluency in French is required.
