About the Role

As a Veterinary Surgeon, you will play a key role in delivering advanced surgical care across a diverse referral caseload.

Working alongside specialists in multiple disciplines, you will perform a wide range of soft tissue, orthopaedic and minimally invasive procedures while contributing to the continued growth of the surgical service.

Multidisciplinary Referral Team

You'll work alongside an experienced team of specialists and emergency clinicians across a wide range of disciplines, including:

  • Rehabilitation & Integrative Medicine

This collaborative approach allows specialists to work together on challenging cases while delivering the highest standards of patient care.

Key Responsibilities

Your role will include:

  • Performing advanced soft tissue and orthopaedic surgical procedures.
  • Managing referral surgical cases from consultation through to discharge.
  • Collaborating with specialists across multiple disciplines to achieve optimal patient outcomes.
  • Interpreting advanced diagnostic imaging and laboratory findings.
  • Providing exceptional communication and support to referring veterinarians and pet owners.
  • Participating in the continued development of the surgical service.
  • Mentoring interns and junior clinicians where appropriate.
  • Maintaining the highest standards of clinical care and patient safety.

What We're Looking For

*Essential*
  • Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) or equivalent veterinary degree.
  • Diplomate of the American College of Veterinary Surgeons (ACVS), or residency-trained candidate preparing for the ACVS Phase II examination.
  • Eligibility for veterinary licensure in California.
  • Excellent surgical, diagnostic and clinical decision-making skills.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • A collaborative approach to multidisciplinary medicine.
