Veterinary Medical Director

A well-established small-animal practice in Newton, MA is seeking a Medical Director to provide leadership, mentorship, and strategic guidance while maintaining high standards of patient care. This role offers the opportunity to shape the culture, growth, and vision of the hospital while supporting staff development and fostering an exceptional workplace environment.

Qualifications:

• Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM/VMD) or equivalent
• Active state veterinary license in good standing
• Active or eligible DEA license
• Strong leadership, communication, and team-oriented skills

About the Practice:

This general practice focuses on pet wellness, sick exams, vaccinations, spays and neuters, surgery, dentistry, digital radiographs, and ultrasound. The hospital serves Newton, Boston, Watertown, Waltham, and Brighton, providing high-quality, compassionate care with a collaborative, experienced team and a committed client base.

Schedule:

• MondayFriday: 8:30 AM5:30 PM
• Saturday: 9:00 AM1:00 PM

Role Responsibilities:

• Lead and mentor veterinarians to achieve medical excellence
• Collaborate with practice managers and leadership to implement strategies and improvements
• Support staff development and foster a positive, high-performing culture
• Ensure exceptional patient care and client satisfaction

Compensation:

Competitive base salary with production opportunities and no negative accrual. Annual full-time compensation typically ranges from $160,000$180,000, depending on experience and credentials, plus a Medical Director stipend.
