Veterinarian - Medical Director

A thriving, full-service small-animal hospital on beautiful Nantucket is seeking an experienced Veterinary Medical Director to lead its dedicated team.

This year-round practice provides urgent care, general medicine, surgery, dentistry, diagnostics, acupuncture, and comprehensive care for dogs, cats, pocket pets, reptiles, birds, and even aquatic species. With advanced technology and a mission to deliver exceptional medical care to the island community, the hospital is ready to welcome a leader who will help shape its future.

About the Role

In this key leadership position, the Medical Director will drive positive change, elevate standards of care, and champion a collaborative, growth-focused culture. Working closely with the practice manager and hospital leadership, this individual will:

•Guide the medical team toward excellence in patient and client care
•Support and mentor veterinarians in developing their clinical and leadership skills
•Help craft and implement strategies that promote hospital success and staff development

Schedule

•MondayFriday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

Requirements

•Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM/VMD) or equivalent
•Active State Veterinary Board License in good standing (or able to obtain prior to start)
•Active DEA license or eligibility
