Lead Veterinarian

An established, progressive small animal practice in Cinco Ranch, West Houston, Texas is seeking an experienced DVM to step into a Medical Director position.

This opportunity is ideal for a doctor who is passionate about delivering high-quality clinical care while providing leadership, mentorship, and strategic medical guidance to a collaborative veterinary team.

Our exclusive client's caseload is primarily small animal in a vibrant state of art generla practice setting.

About the Role

As Medical Director, you will work alongside a team of veterinarians and experienced support staff in a busy, well-equipped hospital.

This role combines hands-on patient care with clinical leadership, allowing you to influence medical standards and team development without excessive administrative burden.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver high-quality small animal medicine and surgery
  • Provide mentorship and clinical support to fellow DVMs
  • Guide and support the medical team's professional development
  • Collaborate with hospital leadership to uphold and advance medical standards
  • Foster a positive, team-oriented hospital culture
  • This role allows you to remain actively involved in cases while playing a key role in shaping the hospital's medical direction and long-term success.

The Facility

The hospital is fully equipped with modern diagnostic and treatment tools to support exceptional patient care, including:

  • Ultrasound
  • Digital radiography (body and dental),
  • ECG equipment and Lazer therpay Dedicated surgery suite.
  • Strong, experienced technician and support team
  • The culture is supportive, collaborative, and committed to practicing high-quality medicine in a positive and professional environment.

Schedule

  • Full-time position working 4 mid-week days with occasional weekends on a rotational basis:
  • Monday Friday: 8:00 AM 6:00 PM
  • Saturday: 8:00 AM 12:00 PM

Compensation & Benefits

  • Base Salary: $135,000 $165,000 (based on experience and leadership scope)
  • 20% Production bonus structure

About You

  • DVM degree from an accredited program
  • Licensed (or eligible for licensure) in Texas
