Gemma Czech contacted me asking if I was interested in working abroad as a Dermatology Specialist in Singapore as a position was available. This was almost two years ago in 2023. In two weeks we move to Singapore and I start work at Landon’s Veterinary Specialists in May.
It has been a long journey and Gemma has been very helpful throughout. She arranged my interview and kept in contact regularly after my trip to Singapore to provide support and act as liaison between the practice and myself. I also met with another practice whilst out there and we discussed the pro’s and cons of each hospital to ensure we made the right decision as a family. There were certainly times when we could have given up, as my husband’s company took a very long time to organize his visa. Gemma remained positive throughout and we have got there in the end after a lot of work on both sides.
If I was looking to move abroad I would proactively contact Gemma to discuss possible opportunities and would recommend colleagues to do the same.
