Prospect Health is pleased to work with a highly respected, AAHA accredited practice located in Albuquerque, New Mexico. This well-established practice is seeking a Specialty Medical Director who is board certified or residency-trained to direct the multi-doctor Specialty Service. Your veterinary career will evolve into an administrative position where you will be responsible for ensuring the direction and medical quality of the hospital, much like a practice owner.
As a Veterinarian Specialty Medical Director you will enjoy the full support of the expert Human Resources, Marketing, Operations, Payroll team. You can equally expect a collaborative and inclusive environment from the team of highly skilled doctors including full-time GPs and emergency doctors, as well as board certified specialists in Surgery, Critical Care, Ophthalmology, Oncology, Radiology and Internal Medicine. Highly trained and dedicated support staff will also be on hand for added support.
Excelling in providing compassionate and excellent veterinary care, this practice is fully equipped with multiple treatment areas, a quiet ICU with isolation spaces for cats, an advanced IM/cardiology ultrasound suite and CT scanner. Moreover, there are large rooms specifically for comfort, chemotherapy, examination, as well as spacious surgical suites solely for endoscopy, soft tissue, orthopaedic and ophthalmology surgery.
As the Speciality Medical Director, you will also have access to the private doctors' office and a large conference room.

Key Skills, Qualifications and Client Requirements

  • DVM/VMD/NAVLE degree or equivalent from an accredited university
  • Board Certified or Residency Trained Veterinary Specialist
  • Advanced surgical and general medicine experience
  • Supervision and mentorship experience
  • A compassionate and energetic veterinarian
  • A strong communicator who loves building rapport and long-lasting relationships with clients
  • A person who possesses strong emotional intelligence and is a team player
