Associate Veterinarian Job, Austin, TX

Working 9-5 appointments only, a flexible schedule where you can work 2-5-day weeks, improving your work/life balance, receiving the up most gratitude from your clients from each appointment are just some of the key perks of this job.

Once trained you will be trusted to work independently, with your own daily appointments, veterinary equipment will be transported within your car. You will need to be emotionally, physically, and intellectually available to be able to offer the best end-of-life care package to your patients. Providing this outstanding care will leave a lasting impression of all pet owners who will forever be grateful that you could help their beloved pets in a time of need.


The Location

Austin, TX offers a wide range of recreational activities, entertainment options, and places to visit. Outdoor enthusiasts can explore the city's numerous parks and lakes, including Zilker Park and Lady Bird Lake, where they can hike, bike, kayak, and paddleboard. For those interested in music and nightlife, the city has a vibrant music scene with live music venues scattered throughout the city, including the iconic 6th Street. Visitors can also check out the State Capitol, the Bullock Texas State History Museum, and the famous bats under the Congress Avenue Bridge. Additionally, Austin is home to numerous restaurants and food trucks offering a variety of cuisines, making it a foodie's paradise.


Key Duties

  • Provide outstanding end-of-life care and euthanasia to geriatric and terminally ill patients.
  • Assist and guide family members with decision making process ensuring they are well informed throughout the process.
  • Visit veterinary clinics within the community and become an extension of these when providing in home treatment.


Physical Requirements

  • Veterinarians are required to lift up to 50 lbs (unassisted) and up to 100 lbs (assisted).
  • Veterinarians must be able to walk, kneel, bend, crouch, crawl, stoop, stand, and reach consistently during the workday.
  • Prolonged periods of sitting while driving.
  • A valid driver's license and a well-maintained vehicle.
  • Working knowledge of smartphones, tablets/computers, GPS, and digital medical records.
  • Veterinarians must have manual dexterity, fine motor skills, and the ability to keep their hands steady while using medical tools.


Qualifications

  • Must have a State License
  • Must have a DVM qualification
