Associate Veterinarian Job, Greensboro, North Carolina

This hospital is a family owned, full service practice based in Greensboro, North Carolina that has been providing the highest level of veterinary medicine since 2003 and they're have a Associate Veterinarian job open.

Offering dermatology, dental, surgery and internal medicine services as well as cutting edge diagnostics equipment, full-range in-house Laboratory, High-Definition Digital X-ray and Ultrasound.

Their mission is to provide their patients with the highest level of comprehensive veterinary medicine in a comfortable and caring atmosphere.

You will have a great work-life balance with a schedule that does not include Sundays, over nights or on-call. You will have variety of clients, supporting both wellness care and daytime emergency for dogs and cats.

Your time and expertise is well-leveraged with a support staff to doctor ratio of greater than 3:1. The facility is spacious and features a large treatment room with in-house lab and pharmacy, digital x-ray suite with ultrasound, designated surgical suite, designated dental suite with digital dental x-ray, cold laser therapy, eight exam rooms and the space to practice medicine appropriately. In addition to routing surgery there is also orthopaedic surgery.

North Carolina provides a large range of recreational activities, from swimming at the beach to skiing in the mountains, salt-water fishing, rock climbing, biking, boating and sailing. With its theme parks, aquariums, museums, historic sites, elegant theatres, concert halls, and fine dining.

  • Examining and observing animals to diagnose health problems and assess their health
  • Performing laboratory tests on samples and specimens
  • Dressing and treating wounds, performing surgery and prescribing medication
  • Testing for diseases and administering vaccinations
  • Performing ultrasound and diagnostic imaging tests
  • Advising animal owners on preventive healthcare, general care and nutrition
  • Spaying and neutering dogs and cats
  • Maintaining medical records of animals

Key Duties

  • Develop a rapport with clients and determine their needs and wishes; perform physical examinations and diagnostic/medical/surgical/dental procedures in a way that will deliver the highest quality care while minimizing patient stress and discomfort.
  • Explain physical examination findings and communicate to the client a diagnosis of the pet's problems; generate and present a treatment plan for the pet to the client; educate clients on preventative health care, including vaccines and appropriate nutritional products.
  • Maintain client/patient medical/surgical records and make certain all necessary logs are kept up-to-date through established protocols; assist colleagues in follow-up and future management of the patient.
  • Stay up-to-date with new medical information and changes in veterinary medicine, attend Continuing Education meetings.
  • Treat every client like family and each patient like your own pet.

Key Skills, Qualifications and Client Requirements

  • Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) degree from an accredited university
  • Professional comportment and appearance, with excellent interpersonal skills and a positive, friendly attitude
  • The ability to make decisions and communicate clearly and effectively with fellow team members
