Exclusive new prospect for a Vision Therapy / Neurorehabilitation Optometrist to join a highly regarded team of dedicated professionals in Kansas City on a flexible part-time or possibly even full-time basis if preferred by the successful applicant.

Our client would initially prefer to offer two to three days of work midweek; however, they do expect that the role could quickly grow to full-time if preferred, and for an exceptional candidate, a full-time opportunity may still be possible to achieve from the outset.

To assist you in your work, there is an abundance of highly trained support colleagues who will perform any initial patient screening as you see fit to suit the patient, as well as a bright, modern practice fully equipped to enable the highest levels of care for their patient base, who will predominantly be requiring your clinical care due to traumatic brain injuries (TBI), strokes, developmental conditions, and other vision-related deficits, enabling the successful applicant to enjoy a clinically highly rewarding role.

Our client can also offer generous daily negotiable rates up to roughly $700 depending on skillset and experience, opportunities to work midweek only and flexibly on a part-time or possibly full-time basis, $2500 in CET allowance, negotiable relocation support/welcome bonus, and all other benefits you'd expect from an employed position once working in excess of 30 hours per week so apply now to avoid disappointment!



Clinical Duties:

  • Conduct comprehensive eye exams, including binocular vision assessments and visual field testing, while also diagnosing and treating conditions such as amblyopia, convergence insufficiency, and strabismus.
  • Provide neuro-optometric rehabilitation for patients recovering from TBIs, strokes, or other neurological
  • Develop personalized vision therapy programs and monitor progress, making adjustments as needed.
  • Prescribe corrective lenses, prisms, and specialized optical aids.


Other Professional Duties:

  • Work collaboratively with specialists such as neurologists, therapists, and ophthalmologists, making referrals where necessary when more advanced care is required.
  • Be proactive in working with other internal colleagues to improve and expand services within the local area via community outreach and referral networking.
  • Working hours are usually offered between 8 am-4 pm or 9 am-5 pm, midweek only (40 hours per week full-time equivalent contract).
  • Options to work anything from two/three days per week upwards to potentially four or five days, with the possibility of a condensed full-time position over four days if preferred.

Key Skills and Qualifications

  • Licensed to practice in Missouri and Kansas City required and possess a Doctor of Optometry (O.D.) degree.

Whilst several years of post-qualified experience is preferred, all levels of experience are able to apply for this more clinically specialist-focused position. It is essential, however, to already have some practical experience or significant further training / stong interest in behavioral optometry, neuro-optometry and vision therapy.
