Veterinary Neurologist (Board Certified / Diplomate / Residency Trained)

This is a rare chance to help shape and build a state-of-the-art facility from the ground up.

Practice / Hospital / Referral Centre Information

This animal hospital will be the first referral center of its kind in Halifax, Nova Scotia. It will feature cutting-edge facilities and medical equipment, including a brand-new high field magnet, with the equipment tailored to the successful candidate's preferences. The hospital aims to set new standards in veterinary care for the region.

Departments

As a Neurologist, you will play a critical role in establishing the Neurology department and collaborate closely with other specialists to deliver high-quality care. You will have the opportunity to work in a brand-new facility designed with your input.

Equipment

The hospital will be equipped with top-tier diagnostic and treatment tools, including:

  • A high field magnet tailored to the Neurology department's needs
  • Comprehensive, modern diagnostic and therapeutic equipment based on the successful candidate's specifications

Staffing Levels

You will be an essential part of the founding team, with the opportunity to shape and mentor the staff as the hospital grows. This is an exciting opportunity to lead a department and collaborate with other specialty and emergency teams.

Type of Individual Sought

We are seeking a motivated, team-oriented Neurologist who is passionate about patient care and excited to contribute to the development of this new facility. You should be enthusiastic about building a state-of-the-art hospital and leading a department from its inception.

Qualifications Required

  • Doctorate in Veterinary Medicine (DVM) or equivalent
  • Board-certified or board-eligible in Neurology (ACVIM or ECVN)
  • Experience working with a Neurology team
  • Eligible for licensure in Nova Scotia
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills
